What we do

Every part of your roof, looked after

Every job starts with a free inspection and a clear written quote.

Roof Repairs

Slipped, cracked or missing tiles and slates, leaks, ridge and verge repairs, and valley repairs on pitched roofs of every age.

  • Replacing slipped, cracked and missing tiles and slates
  • Rebedding or dry-fixing ridges, hips and verges
  • Valley repairs in lead or GRP
  • Tracing and fixing leaks

Most leaks start small: a slipped tile, a cracked slate, a gap in a ridge or a worn valley. Water then runs along battens and rafters before it shows on a ceiling, so the damp patch is rarely directly below the fault. We inspect the whole slope and show you photos of what we find before quoting.

Where tiles or slates need replacing, we match size, colour and profile as closely as we can, reusing sound originals on older roofs so repairs blend in.

New Roofs and Re-roofing

When repairs are no longer the sensible option, we strip and re-roof in slate, clay or concrete tiles with new battens and breathable membrane.

  • Full strip and re-roof
  • Natural slate, clay and concrete tiles
  • Reusing sound original slates or tiles where possible
  • Dry-fix ridge and verge systems

We only recommend a new roof when repairs no longer make sense: widespread failing tiles, worn-out underlay, rotten battens or repeated leaks in different places. If a repair will do, we will tell you.

A re-roof starts with scaffolding and a chute or skip for waste. We strip the old covering, check and repair the rafters, fit a breathable membrane and new treated battens, then lay the tiles or slates with properly fixed ridges, verges and valleys. New lead goes on around chimneys and walls where needed.

Flat Roofing

Repairs and replacement flat roofs on extensions, garages and dormers in EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and torch-on felt.

  • EPDM rubber single-ply roofs
  • GRP fibreglass roofs
  • Torch-on felt systems
  • Deck, fall and edge-trim repairs

Flat roofs fail at the edges and junctions more than anywhere else. We check the deck first and replace soft or rotten boards, make sure the roof falls towards the gutter, and seal upstands properly where the roof meets a wall.

EPDM is a single rubber sheet with very few joints. GRP cures into a hard, seamless finish that suits awkward shapes and light foot traffic. Torch-on felt is a sound, cost-effective option, especially for garages and outbuildings.

Chimney Repairs and Leadwork

Repointing, rebuilding, flaunching, pots and caps, plus new lead flashings, soakers and valleys.

  • Repointing and partial rebuilds
  • Flaunching, pots and cowls
  • Capping unused flues with ventilation
  • Lead flashings, soakers and aprons

Lead flashings seal the joint between the roof and the chimney stack or wall. When the mortar holding them fails, or the lead lifts or cracks, water runs straight inside. We refix or replace flashings in lead, repoint stacks with a suitable mortar, renew cracked flaunching and fit ventilated caps to disused flues.

Roofline and Guttering

Fascias, soffits, bargeboards, gutters and downpipes, repaired, cleared or replaced in low-maintenance uPVC.

  • Gutter clearing and repairs
  • New gutters and downpipes
  • Fascia, soffit and bargeboard replacement
  • Resealing leaking joints

Overflowing gutters soak brickwork, rot timber fascias and can push water back under the bottom row of tiles. Often the gutters just need clearing and realigning. Where fascias and soffits have rotted, we replace them with uPVC and fit new guttering and downpipes.

Your questions, answered

Roofing questions from Wisbech

If your question is not here, call 07450 418300 or send a WhatsApp message to 07412 757620.

Do you cover the villages around Wisbech?

Yes. As well as the town, we cover PE13 and PE14 villages including Wisbech St Mary, Guyhirn, Murrow, Parson Drove, Tydd St Giles, Elm, Emneth, Outwell, Upwell, Walsoken, West Walton and Walpole St Peter.

My house on the Brinks has a parapet and hidden gutters. Can you repair those?

Yes. Parapet and valley gutters behind Georgian fronts are a common source of leaks when lead or linings fail. We will inspect them, photograph what we find and recommend a repair in lead or a suitable modern lining.

Do I need consent for roof work on a listed building in Wisbech?

Like-for-like repairs are often fine, but changes to a listed building or work in a conservation area may need consent from Fenland District Council. We will tell you before we start if we think it applies.

Can you repair pantile roofs?

Yes. Pantiles are common on cottages and outbuildings around Wisbech. Cracked or slipped pantiles can be replaced, and where the roof has reached the end of its life we can strip and re-lay with new or reclaimed tiles to match.

Are roof inspections free?

Yes. We will inspect, photograph and explain what we find with no obligation.

Are you insured and qualified?

Yes. RooFix-Solutions Ltd carries £10 million public liability insurance, and our roofers are NVQ qualified and CSCS certified.
